Bike touring season is upon us again

Bike touring is the best thing in the world, ever, so I'm selling these beauties:

Quite big, with a quick release system; much better than an elastic hook. As you can see, I've never used them, they still have their tags attached. Like almost all of my bike luggage, I bought them and decided to stick with the ones I always use. They're a bit dusty from spending too long in the man cave, but otherwise, perfect.

£20 posted.

Forgive my utter ignorance, I've always been a 'mini-tool & spare tube in a jersey pocket' kind of rider, but I'm thinking of putting a rack on my 'town bike' (a kind of retro/courier set up that I want to make more practical) and wondered if these would be a good set up for shopping & the like?

Would I need a specific kind of rack? Are they quick & easy clip on/off and carry (shoulder straps?)? I imagine clipping one on & nipping to town, taking the bag with me when I park the bike.

Sorry to be so green, well outside my usual area

Thanks very much,
Pete

Well, they would have been. But I think they're sold. :(

But I have several racks I'm clearing out, send me a picture of your commuter and I'll let you know if I have anything that would work for you.

These are Halfords. I assumed you could make it out in the photo, but looking at it through the screen of my little netbook, perhaps not. :?

Incidentally, they're 40l /pair. Quite big.
