My work have just joined the bike4work scheme and it's been interesting to see what my collegues have been buying. So if you've been lucky enough to join such a scheme what did you buy and did you buy the right bike?

Many at work did it and mainly got mid range hardtail specialized (big spesh shop where I work).

Looking at trying to blag £1000 off a new Orange 5 myself. If I can't swindle that I've got my eye on a full XT and Fox Float equiped bike on CRC that comes in around £1000. All bits will then fall off and land on my 2007 Clockwork frame.

my place insisted on using halfrauds so i did a little digging and found out that condor cycles in london is one of their suppliers, quick phone call to them and they said don't bother going to halfrauds just give us the voucher and pick out your bike, got a Condor Italia road bike, aluminium frame with carbon seat and chainstays, full carbon fork, with veloce groupset and mavic aksium wheels with a custom paint job (cos i hated the off the shelf colour)

got it home and ripped it appart, now it has record and cosmic carbons on!! :D rides loverly!!! :D :D

i did add 300 to the 1000 limit though which i'm told various schemes are cracking down on now though.

signed up for it again this year, same thing, went to condor and ordered a mix of a track/single speed road bike. again custom colour and the exact spec i wanted, kept it inside a grand this time though. gonna be a while before i see it though!!

First time I got a Scott Genuis MC40 (2008), great bike!

Second time went for Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels with Dura Ace cassette, and various bits and pieces to use up the £1000 limit. I'm sure they are good wheels but only used them once so far.

Always wanted a really good set of road wheels, but without the scheme, I couldn't have afforded or justified them.
