bike choice for baby seat

further to my last thread, i'm now curious as to which type of bike would be better suited to a baby seat riding on forest firetracks & country park roads / paths.

option 1 is the rigid clockwork BUT its my bike not the boy's and i don't really want to clamp a great big seat onto a decent seatpost & risk any damage to it

option 2 is a 1x9 hardtail this bike won't be used as often as the clockwork but when it does get used it will be for singletrack / off piste jaunts through the forest so it would need to come off

option 3 is my hybrid road commuter thing which isn't ideal as it doesn't have rack mounts so the seat would be a bit sloppier & it wouldn't handle the forest tracks

option 4 is to build the near death marin frame i've got sitting in the shed into the biggest parts bin special i can - i think all i'd need is a wheelset, threaded headset, chain & rear mech & shifter & i should be able to throw the rest together out of spares.

so... do i build a specific kiddie carrier or is the sensible option to use something i've already got built?

Theyre not that much hassle to fit and remove are they?
Dont they 'quick release'?
So option 2 sounds best, or 4.

i think part of me wants to use option 4 purely to save faffing about taking it on / off each time i come to use the bike. i reckon for what it would cost to finish the marin, i could probably turn up a local, cheap, low end retro for less & mash the spares bin onto it to get it decent.
