What a shame :( , those are lovely old things too, is it fixeable ?

Yes It's fixable although not by this ham fisted eejit!! :D

I will find out in the next couple of days just how much damage has been done.

Just got a word from the body shop regarding the volvo!

2,700 flamin' nicker!!!

I'm feeling a bit sick at the mo'.

Did I tell you I hadn't insured the car on 'agreed value' :( so the insurance company will pay us about 75 quid or something rediculous.

I'm going to bed for a bit.

That sucks .

Come on Al it's an amazon , they are the closest thing Brits have to a lead sled and always look cool .

There would be a picture of one here but photobucket says no .

Are you fully comp? You can insist on a repair even if it's an economical right off. For one off / rare / sentimental / classic cars you can insist on a repair, that's the point of insurance after all! They will fob you off but don't have any of it. I wish i knew this years ago when my MG was written off and I bought it back off them in a sorry state to repair myself..... it's still only half done

My brother is arguing the same point just now with his R21, they said it's an economical right off 2.5k repair job. They offered him 600 for the car, he cannot replace the car with another the same for that money, similar ones cost 2k if you can find one. So he has been arguing for more and reminding them that if they don't give him more he will insist on a repair which will cost them even more. Does that make sense :?

bottom line, don't accept their first offer and argue like hell for more because they will pay bugger all if they can get away with it. One of the arguments they used with my brothers case "the cars you have showed us costing 2k are newer than yours so that's why we offered you 600" yes he showed them cars 18-19 years old his is 20years old, aren't any for sale that old becuase they are even rarer...muppets
