Saw this advertised, appalling photo I know, but to his credit he has managed to obscure any part that might give a clue as to what it might be

All I know is it's described as a chrome frame shimano.

Any idea as to what it might be/age?

It is dangerously close to that bin

Blimey you've got good eyesight if you can read the 'made in Italy' stamp on the plastic top of the bottle cage

Well spotted on the eyes too, I didn't notice that.

So who made chrome bikes in the mid to late 70's?

Could be anything under the dust, sort of reminds me of an Atala.....

I see what you mean about Atala, those forks look the part. I know Atala made chrome frames, usually track ones though.

I don't live anywhere near the bike so have sent a list of questions to the owner, if he responds I'll post his reply (translated badly by me!) here.
