Saw this advertised, appalling photo I know, but to his credit he has managed to obscure any part that might give a clue as to what it might be :D

All I know is it's described as a chrome frame shimano.

Any idea as to what it might be/age?

It is dangerously close to that bin :D

Re:

You think it might be Italian...from Pompeii...circa ad79? :D

We only have his word that it is a chrome frame, it might be red!

Blimey! Bottle cage looks like a Cobra, can't see any mudguard eyes which is a bonus feature for me :)

Blimey you've got good eyesight if you can read the 'made in Italy' stamp on the plastic top of the bottle cage :D

Well spotted on the eyes too, I didn't notice that.

So who made chrome bikes in the mid to late 70's?

The cage design looks like a Cobra :)

Could be anything under the dust, sort of reminds me of an Atala.....

Re:

I see what you mean about Atala, those forks look the part. I know Atala made chrome frames, usually track ones though.

I don't live anywhere near the bike so have sent a list of questions to the owner, if he responds I'll post his reply (translated badly by me!) here.
