Hi, does anyone know what size bottom bracket should be used on 93 zaskar with m900 chainset ? thanks

length will be 107 or 113
GT's bottom bracket width I don't know but get out a ruler and measure it.

Alu GT, fat tube ?, you may want to for for the 113 length.
Though since 110 is now available you may be able to use that.

I could only advise from band size of the mech as I don't know the bikes
28.6 then use 107
31.8 possibly move to 110
34.9 then I would almost certainly head for 113

Though of course if you have any one of them, give it a try ;)

Generally a 73x113 for an alu gt

my rts is and I can't imagine they changed from ht to fs
:? 3 diff sizes now given .does anyone know the true size?

73mm shell with a 113 axle was what i had on mine with an LX low profile 97 chainset (pretty much the same dimensions as the XTR you want to run)

That's because there is a range of lengths for the bottom bracket.
107 to 113 - these give you the 47.5mm chainline (107) which is the 'ideal' for M900 setup and 50mm chainline (113) which is the furthest in the spec for the chainline.

The fatter your tubes means you may need to use the longer axle one to stop it hitting the chainstays.
Also Shimano apparenlty optimised the band size to each slightly longer chainline (I say apparently, I have no way to test this)

So 113 will work and be the safest bet, 110 will probably be fine and be the best setup, 107 may also be fine, but good chance your cranks will hit the chainstays, but if it doesn't it'll work just as well and be a touch lighter with a narrower q-factor.

Hence go for 113 as the rest suggest, be safe and have no chance of any problem.

Hiya....Tricky lad was asking the same question yesterday.....I forwarded him the details of GT chainline and relevant Shimano charts as originally posted to me by forum member GM 1230126.....73mm x 107 seems to be the answer...anyhow...have a browse and decide for yourself

http://www.bikepro.com/products/shimano ... table.html

Scroll all the way to the bottom of the chart where it shows the 47.5 and 50.0mm chainline figures. From what I remember most all the GT's were built to a 47.5mm chainline so that would be a 107mm spindle. Just looked and a couple of my Zaskars have the M737 crank and I can see 107 stamp in the spindle.

Shimano's own published chart shows the same thing and one of the mods should make this link a sticky....very valuable for those of us building up bikes.
