My local Halfords in Aylesford, Kent had some bargains today.

Middleburn chain rings, Shimano 105 triple road ring, Campy headset, Truativ MTB chainset, Bottom brackets, a Sora STI set all for between £5 and £35.

can't remember the exact prices. Might be good for someone on here????

Amongst the new stuff I've snaffled from my local Halfrauds are...

Park cone wrenches, £1 each
Ti Flite Saddles £10 each
Hope stems £30 each
Hope rear hubs £50 each
Tiagra 9 speed road STIs £10 pair
Middleburn Hardcoat chainrings £5 each
Folding Panaracer mud tyres £10 each
Schwalbe Marathon plus tyres £5 each
Campag road bits £embarassingly low prices

The list goes on and on and on

MY Halfords never seem to have anything decent. Their idea of high end is a deore rear mech.

As for Hope hubs and Ti Flite saddles........................

I'm guessing it's the more established shops that have the older stuff?

No, they've shut a load of their smaller bikehut only stores and are liquidating the stock themselves through the other shops, I've snaffled bargains at two that I've visited. The one near my office had Van Nichols road bikes, full ultegra at £999! Unfortunately the staff get most of the bikes, with their staff discount they'd be stupid not to, easy to sell on on ebay.

They get their pick of the parts too but enough makes it's way in to the rummage bins. I visit one near my office once or twice a week, there's always another box of tat come in and they just pour it in to what's already there, if you're prepared to rummage you'll find stuff.

They'll do a deal if you buy a load too.
