BARGAIN TIG RITCHEY

Last week I dragged home A Brodie and this Ritchey from our local swap.
Had been so engrossed in the Sovereign that I forgot all about this.
Not sure of the year.....maybe you Ritchey experts can determine the exact date.
Dont see a lot of these in these parts.
She has definetely been ridden.
THe XC Comp pedals were definetely a selling point!

I would concur it is '86, they went to Canti in late '87 U brake only lasted about a year. Great find here with the Ultra.
There was nothing wrong with the U brake and it's placement, but Shimano tried to compete with the excellent Suntour roller cams (and failed hopelessly) their shameful attempt, with their diabolical design, pretty much wrote off the U brakes popularity. I have the 85 version of this and with a modern Scandium CNC'd Diacomp U brake, it works really well (and weighs a third of the Shimano M730 version)
