bar and stem diameters for Mavic and Cinelli

what are the various sizes?

i know cinelli changed their sizes but i can't remember which way they went! i remember it happened around the time i was getting into road stuff but because i am building this boardman related bike i need to know what sizes are compatible with eachother.

the brands i am mainly concerned with are Mavic and Cinelli but ITM would be helpful aswel.

25.4? 26.0?

i have been looking on ebay for various parts and paople seem to be guessing or measuring with "my old steel calipers" which are obviously the hieght of technical accuracy!!

I think it was Cinelli who went as you say to 26.0

I have an ITM stem which says 25.8 on the clamping hole - I guess that was a compromise to fit anything...

AFAIK Mavic bars were made by Modolo and were 26.0mm

Cinelli went from 26.4 to 26.0 in the mid-late 90s

ITM and 3TTT were 25.8/26.0 throughout

that's really convenient as i just won some mavic low profile bars on fleabay!!
