Many banks will call you in the evenings - edit: I don't mean to spam you, but to be able to discuss things you may not be able to do during the day.

There is nothing like face to face when it comes to business. I would go with one that is open Saturdays at least. Why don't the government make banks change their practises? We ought to be able to bank at our convenience.

The same reason they allow banks to get away with other dodgy practices. Without allowing the banks a certain slackness, this country would be royally shafted.

It's annoying....

My local branch open Mon - Fri 9.30-3.30
Slightly bigger branch a little bit further away Mon - Fri 9.30 - 5
Big branch in town Mon - Fri 9.30 - 5 (6 on a thursday!) and Sat 10.30 - 3

I'm working pretty much all of that!

If a bank opened with hours reflecting those of self employed people, they would make a killing I feel...
