BANDWAGON ("Problem with Rbiker"thread, part2)

Hello everybody

Last month i became a star of type of thread i never thought i ever would.
All i did was I wanted to buy a NOS flite from a guy named Viveka Tjälve aka mr.zzz.

Although our short communication was from both sides totally within anybodys norm (in terms of time gaps between messages)
He, from the very beginning acted a bit jerky.
Giving deadlines for payment in hours and from the start threatening hes gonna sell it to somebody else meant, he was using really all the hard stuff he could use on the buyer.
Since i felt i did nothing wrong I took ofence a bit.
After i sent him the money (65 quid, PP Gift.. silly me) within the time he requested, i sent him a message where i sarcastically mirrored his style
,setting up exactly the type of requirements for him as a seller, as he had set up for me before.
Within the context of successful deal and with already having my money on his account, there were, im sure, different ways how he could have reacted to my message.
What he did choose doing was to start a thread where he intentionally skewed facts to win the opinion of the forum,
plus posted just part of my message without any context so i lm in the bad light.

Before i found out about the thread, it developed into online, several page long, public crucifixion of me.
After i defended myself and thread got closed, Viveka Tjälve/mr.zzz started sending me messages, with quite different tone
(mental, to be honest) .. basically laughing that now he has my money and i cannot do anything about it.
Then he stopped.

I repeatedly tried unsuccessfully to get in touch with him.
I waited 4 weeks, then i wrote him again
I even contacted John about it. He tried aswell.
Nothing.

So now it will soon be a month and a half.
Mr. zzz/Tjälve is apparently very comfortable with receiving somebody elses money and keeping them for his own amusement
I hope his life got much better after my unintentional donation.
His profile shows zero activity since that thread.

I dont know much about him.
I know his name is Viveka Tjälve
his email is: [email protected]
and that he lives in Sweden
thats it.

Now i dont think i will see my money again. So all i can do at this point is to out him here
Maybe i can ask retrobikers from Sweden. If you, by chance know this guy, let him know how wonderfully he handled this.
If you`ll see a new shiny component on his bike, Its in fact me who sponsored it...

cheers
jan

Here i took some time and made print screens of our entire communication from the very first message till my last attempt i wrote a week ago.
Its for you all to see.
The first part has been already discussed in his smear thread.
Its quite interesting though to check the second part, the messages he sent me after the thread got closed.
Unbelievable.
Make your own mind.

cheers

jan

Well there's one way this kind of thing can be avoided - not using PP gift. Pay as goods, pay the charges - it's not a lot extra, and should buy some peace of mind, and is the recommendations in the trading guides on here.

Sure, it may seem odd to some long standing members, it may seem as if there's some trust missing that should be there, but as a buyer, it's not a lot extra for the fees, from the seller should make no difference as they should get the same amount in the end.

In this case, I think you got a very raw deal - not only was an out-of-context thread started about you, that allowed some to form and unfavourable opinion of your conduct, there (although it's worth noting that there were some that smelt a rat and mentioned they thought there was some context missing) - the audacity of it from the seller when you don't have your goods over a month later is diabolical.

I think the moral of this story (as well as Neil's Paypal advice) is: Don't attempt to make jokes on the internet in a language that isn't the native tongue of either you or the recipient. It's easy enough for two British people speaking English to misunderstand the intentions of a comment over the internet, let alone adding in second/third languages.

Not implying that you're in the wrong here, just noting that there's a distinct point where the transaction rather went off the rails :)

I hear your point, but im afrait this reasoning is close to Justifying rapist, because girl wore miniskirt, or justifying ambassy destruction, because somebody somewhere made a cartoon..

I think we are adults. One thing is internet argument (words) and another think is a CRIMINAL ACT.

In terms of PP Gift, the experience is untransferable i guess.. (now i know better)

To be honest I think you are just as bad as each other, the way you both communicated was pretty disgusting to be honest!!.....but that's just my opinion.. 8)

I cant really see what was wrong with him asking for a quick response...he probably had several others that wanted the saddle!.....it all went a bit pear shaped when you demanded he takes the day off...

.....and then it was like handbags at dawn between a couple of kids!!

BUT at the end of the day, he still has your money. He should man up and either send the saddle or refund you.

Looks like you misconstrued mr. zzz's attempt to complete the sale quickly so other interested parties could 'move on' once the sale was final as an attempt to bully you into a rapid payment.

Your response is quite a bit more demanding than mr zzz's request to pay ASAP. His response is actually a pretty reasonable one since you did ask him to stay home from work. He was actually willing to work with you there - or more likely yanking your chain a bit, but at least he was accomodating in his response.

From there the whole thing went bad. Being insulted is no reason to keep somebody's payment. I could understand him not wanting to complete the sale with you.

The whole 'outting people' and their names on the internet? That's not cool. I don't really care about airing PM's to resolve a grievance but others think that is an internet no-no.

Whatever happened this guy has been skanked out of £65. Mr zzz or whatever his name is should repay capin. I very much douby capin wants the saddle now. Has he been back online since this all happened. I remember the first thread and I thought it was out of order for mr zzz to start it in the first place. Maybe as a last resort but things could have been sorted out in a more grown up way.
