Is it just me or do those cable entry and exit holes look very poorly made? Did they really come like this or has someone done a dodgy repair? Also those bottle bosses look like they have paint on them, has this been partly resprayed or do they come like that?

Seemed to be a common problem with the Attitudes of Klein. Some Dutch guy who used to be with Dutch Klein distributor sells sometimes frames like that. They did came back for a warrantyclaim and the frame were dropped in the dustcontainer.

So its a more common problem of some Kleins....

But looks nice....:)

the welds are as they are on those old frames. that one is on the less nice side of the spectrum but they all looked a bit cobbly back then. the welds were sanded a bit smoother later but only the Adroits got more attention to get a nicer finish. The MC2 frames tend to have nicer welds, but that's mostly cosmetics. there are many Klein MTBs and road bikes older than that Attitude that have much smoother welds but it's only determined by the amount of post-welding effort that went into them, i.e. the position in the hierachy and sales price.

the paint bubbling is a common issue and is caused by oxidisation of the aluminum below the paint and thus a result of poor paint preparation i'd say. add to that the tendency of seat tube cracking and one wonders why those early Kleins fetch so much on ebay ;)

the bottle cage bolts are painted with the frame, that's one feature everybody raves about. good sign that the paint is still intact as it usually falls off if the bolts are removed...
