Got these on ebay thinking it was standard but theres no provision for inner or granny.I was looking to swop them but it was pointed out in the thread that they might be for road, then again some felt the single ring thing was DH specific of something.

There is only one step on the end of the arms so it appears to be single ring on the outer.I cant think why if road it wouldnt be a double and why there was no provision for an inner ring.Is the design if it is for raod mean that the full weight goes onto the ring bolts only.
That seems a little unusual to me :?

Anyone shed some light on these :) Seems the best part of the forum to ask really :)
Thanks in advance

They're certainly not designed for road (or track) use.

They look very similar to the standard forged Turbine LP cranks of the nineties, so presumably they're intended for single-chainring off-road use - downhill, singlespeed, 1x9, or Rohloff.

Many triple Turbine LP cranks have a flat-machined rear to the spider with no locating lugs for the middle ring (the chainring bolts provide enough support) so there's nothing to stop you running them as a double. They'd be fine on a cyclocross bike, for example.

I take it the bcd is 110mm?

but you can still use em for double. You don't need the inner "shoulder". As long as the bolts are long enough and the spider is of the correct thickness. Ive successfully used track cranks set up with double rings
