AQUILON road bike. Made in France in the 1960's I believe.
22" / 56cm frame (centre of bottom bracket to top of seat tube)
Very good condition considering it's age. Paintwork is original, as are the decals, and the pinstriping on the frame and around the lugs appears to be hand painted, not transfers, and factory done.
Most unusual thing about the bike is it is 8 speed with a 4 ring rear cassette. I'm told this may be a 'Simplex' item, but can't see a name on it.
The front and rear derailleurs and shifters on the down tube are all Huret.
Brakes are marked 'CLB 700' and are side pull and possibly cast ally.
The bike has mudguards and dynamo lights and the dynamo works well.
Wheels are 28" with large flange hubs and wing nut wheel nuts.
It looks like during the 80's (the decade that taste forgot) the saddle and handlebar tape were replaced.
All in all a nice and unusual old bike, restore it, use it for parts, ride it as it is - the choice is yours.
