Anyone make their own tool roll?

I'm looking for an inexpensive but period correct way to store my tools/tube for Eroica California in April. I've read that some people use tool rolls which looks like a bit of canvas or leather sewn up so it has a number of pockets. Anyone done this? Do you have a pattern?

Mine is a stripy tea towel folded over about a third of the way up and sewed upwards such that it makes vertical pockets to slide things in. Simply fold the top over, roll it up and tie it with the canvas cord round the outside. Or an old toeclip strap.

Maybe if you look for patterns for a husseif you'll find something, since they're the same sort of thing.

Re:

Don't buy new and trendy if you want to look the part. The idea of something so trivial being new is not period!
Home made all the way. Just copy a normal tool roll.
In the early 80's it would have been a tub for me wrapped in a plastic bread bag. I wasn't alone.
Funnily enough we didn't carry tools. A tyre lever if using wired ons but nothing if tubs. Like nowadays I never needed anything.
Of course it needs to be period doesn't it?
