Re:
Hi, are you talking about purely road riding?
The Deeside Way starts at Duthie Park and is tarmac all the way to Milltimber, and away from the roads. Between there and Banchiry it's rough path, so suitable more for a cyclocross bike, after Banchory it heads through Scolty woods before going to Aboyne and then Ballater, again it's more cx or mtg terrain for the most part.
If you head out towards Westhill it's cycle paths next to the road all the way to Westhill, from there you can follow B roads towards Dunecht and Echt, and then head South towards Banchory or Crathes, then head back towards Aberdeen and join the Deeside Way for the last bit.
If you want to know more just ask, or have a look on sites like map my ride, bike route toaster, or even Strava etc, there's plenty of routes out there, or you can design your own, ride it yourself to make sure it's suitable, then take the group out on the route.
If you want off-road routes, then Kirkhill forest on the A96 out of the city is good, Countesswells woods are ok too and there's a route out of the city through Hazlehead Park to the woods & back.
Otherwise you can drive to Pitfichie which is good, Bennachie is rideable and can be linked in with Pitfichie for a longer ride. Scolty (Banchory) has some good trails too.
There's also Aboyne bike park or Tarland trails for a quick bit of fun, or the Glenlivet Trail centre for more of a challenge.
There are so many great places to ride around here, you can't really go too far wrong!
May be worthwhile asking one of the local road clubs for ideas, or joining them for a few rides to see some of their routes, ythancc (Inverurie) seem friendly when I've bumped into them whilst out on the bike.
