Anyone in the North West of England know of any cycling groups?

I was wondering if anyone knows of any cycling groups in the North West of England?

It can get a bit boring on your own sometimes!

these are the four I can think of off the top of my head. there are many many more.

personally I'd rather stay on my own, but each to their own.

Formby is probably the closest one.

I do like to ride alone but sometimes it's nice to chat and have some encouragement to push on!

I rode a few time trails a long time ago and was treated very much as an outsider and some who "brought the sport of cycling in to disrepute and obviously didn't take it with the needed level of professionalism" (genuine words spoken to me) by one of the clubs I mention above (but won't name as it was a long time ago).
it put me off riding with clubs for life.

It may have something to do with me rocking up in faded and baggy gear on a somewhat old and outdated bike then thrashing the majority of their riders, but it could also be the lack of giving a Fk about who was who in the local racing scene at the time.

could also be that I don't like people.

I wasn't thinking of anything serious but more towards a group of people of the same mindset going for a quick ride now and again.
