anyone id this?

it looked like they were the rc31's and the wheel set looked like shimano lx hubs. I would have thrown the money down anyways. If you can find a replica of the fork for the price the bike had who cares if its fake. But it could have been real. You never know.

certainly look like my RC30's the only question is the forward facing brakes. Mine have rear facing magura mounts, and all other pace forks I have seen hae rear facing mounts for whatever brake type (canti, V or magura).

yeah looks like someone got a bargain. i asked if he would post but no joy. you got to assume the frame is ok cos the forks look matched to it.

Hello all, I'm new to this site - what a great source of info and not just on the ebay front looking for old bits!

I bought this bike for the parts as I'm trying to rebuild a couple of old frames. I've started riding again after a 10 year absence.

To confirm, the forks are indeed Pace RC30s, DX V brakes, XT mechs, XT cranks with a Pace 51 tooth outer ring, early Alex sport rims with Real hubs and Bontreger tyres and Marin 6061 bars. However, I have no idea of the frame make as it would appear to have been personalised "Tuff Mayor Frames" with a dodgy spray job. I think the frame maybe decent as the steel has good ring and is quite light.

On the down side, the XT crank and front mech are knackered. Most heart breaking is the snaped seat post halfway down the seat tube that is rusted and will not budge!

If you don't mind I will post some photos in a couple of days on the main MTB forum for some help finding out what this frame is.

Thanks.

Welcome to the site, for the price you got that for it wouldnt matter if you binned all but the forks, you'd still be quids in!
