Any idea what this bike could be?

Any suggestions as to what this might be?

Hand painted bike that set me back £15. Investigations suggest it may be a late-70s Mercian Olympic. Perhaps not.

Has been fitted with early 90s Shimano 1055 Shifters, with a 6-speed freewheel, and a 1055 brakeset. The front derailleur is Campagnolo as are the hubs. Rear spacing is 126mm. The SR Laparade seatpin is dated 1978.

There does not appear to be a serial number on the bottom bracket shell and haven't gotten round to removing the fork yet.

Nice. The seat stay lug and the fork crown do look somewhat distinctive – hopefully a clue for someone who knows more than I do. Are the dropouts stamped with any name?

The seat stay ends look exactly like those on my 77 Bob Jackson .

Yes, They are Campagnolo dropouts

After much fine sanding and paint stripping, found the serial number on the drive side of the bottom bracket. Its '201'. The Laparade Seatpin is 27.0mm and dated 1977

Fancier lugs but yes very similar. Same top tube cable routing too
