I have just been given this..

By my uncle. I have no other info and no other pic than this one. I need to pick it up, but wondered if anyone can help based on what little detail you can see here?

The groupset is, I think, Campagnolo, and the headtube and seattube have MB in large typeface.

I even have no idea of the size though I suspect it is too big.

Nice though.

Any ideas anyone?

My screen isn't too great so I'm squinting , but looks like the M&B Dronfield sticker.

Yep, going by the seat tube badge that looks like one of Andy and Vernon's. Andy Middlemiss and Vernon Barker, top builders in the 80's and early 90's. Vernon is still at it under his own name, still (I think) based in Dronfield between Sheffield and Chesterfield.

M&B frames were ridden by many star riders in the 80's especially.

It's a nice looking bike.

Excellent! Cheers guys.

The bike is currently near Chesterfield so is from that way. Paintwork is in fairly ok condition so shouldn't take much to get her up to scratch. Couldn't believe it when he offered it to me. :)

Nice gift :)

The "groupset" concept probably came after the bike was put together......in those days you bought what you could afford, liked the look of, or what the pro's used :)

For example the brakes are the "wrong side" for campag but it looks a very nice early Christmas Present :)

The braze on's are a bit of a mystery....bottle cage, bottom bracket for the front mech but not for the top tube or the downtube levers...That would place it at the early 80's IMHO

Weinmann brake stirrups with Universal levers. Just like the bike on my avatar. Eeee, those were the days.

Unless they're some early Jap look-a-likes.

The more I look at it the more I like it. When will it become part of your 'stable'? More photos from the chain side would be nice (with the tyres inflated even better  )
