i need an engineering solution for my cruiser fork.

i have a crown and steerer and some fork legs but the legs are too bid in diameter to fit the crown.

i think the best way round it is the pit a steel bung in the leg with a smaller diameter bit that will fit inside the steerer if that makes sense.

could anybody make me a pair of these out of steel and if so what sort of costs would i be looking at? i can measure the inside diameter of the fork blades and the crown.

I am an engineer, I could do the theoretical & design work for you, but being based in the square mile in London, I dont have access to a (functioning) lathe.

okey dokey. i assume i would be able to do some sort of picture - might not be a technical drawing though! guess it depends if the person doing it "gets" it if that makes sense. will bear you in bind though boss

Got any pics? Might be easier to ream the crown if theres enough meat. I think I'm picturing what your suggesting.

i'll post some tonight. i wasnt sure if reamins is an option as the hole in the crown is split and bolts are used (picture a rockshox mag 21 crown - its very similar to that.) my brain is telling be a reamer wont work as the hole isnt round?

Sounds like your after a length of steel stock that steps down in diameter .

Once that's done could someone make me some bottom bracket cups to seat some cartridge bearings , trouble is it's smaller than a typical bottom bracket diameter . I have the old cups which makes it much easier than starting from scratch and some cups from a euro bmx bottom bracket with the bearings in them , its a matter of making them the same size as the ones in the frame .
