Hi all
Picked this old thing up last night on the way home from work, quite fancy a lefty or headshok on it.
Any comments or suggestions more than welcome.
Cheers :
Rich

You are as well putting a Lefty on it as a Headshok. The Lefty will have minimum 100mm travel as opposed to the 80mm max on the Headshok. That will match up better with the longer (120mm) travel on rear compared to the original Headshok.
On my Super V 1000SL I replaced the rear arm (the cast type prone to cracking) with a CAAD4 one off a Jekyll as it's a direct replacement.
A Lefty + Lefty wheel will obviously be more expensive than a Headshok but bargains can be had on ebay if you're patient.
My Lefty Titanium + Lefty wheel were around £170 on ebay, a bargain as far as my wallet is concerned.

Finally got a chance to look over the frame properly today:
the cable stop has been ground away. paint peel to the bottom bracket/swingarm which apparently is quite common.
this is about the worst thing that's wrong with the frame, looked worse in the photos, that's right,LOOKED worse because......... the centre of the bottom bracket shell had a lump of weld that I practiced on first.

Might've found some wheels but they're in the states and have found a lefty but the guy can't be bothered to reply but otherwise..... Mustn't Grumble

Good news with the wheels, have managed to snag a set of crossmax slr's for what I think is a reet good price (got the bags too :D ) will try and get pics up but may wait until I've accumulated more bits.
