ANOTHER KLEIN QUESTION..

How about Grafton Joystix 94/58mm (this is the description - I have no idea what these measurements pertain to..).

Graftons need longer spindle as well. My Graftons are with standard chainrings and it has 122.5mm spindle. I'd say not a chance to run Graftons on 106mm spindle.

Get an another spindle or use XT M737.

94/58mm is the bolt circle diameter so those are compact drive (as opposed to the retro standard 110/74mm). i am not sure if they would work but i doubt it. 106mm is the shortest spindle that was available back then and only very low profile compact cranks will work properly. those would be more on the modern side. if you consider square taper cranks to be modern that is... Race Face LP might work but otherwise i'd say only Shimano XT M737 and younger. M739 i think was the last square taper XT crank. STX and such would also work i'd say but not really adequat for an Adroit. Did you find a larger one than the one you just sold?

I think the M737 is a nice crank and well suited for a 96 Adroit :)

Hi Carsten,

I agree, the XT cranks look lurvley on the Adroit, very clean.. Yours is the same color as mine.. I had tried to sell it, however the guy who was supposed to buy it backed out, so I decided to keep it and buy a longer seatpost 8)

That said, I wish mine was the same size as yours... I am going to keep it and keep an eye out for a 1990 Attitude in a 21 or 22"..

Thanks for all of your help, I should have it built in 2 or 3 weeks and I'll post the pics.

Cheers

Mark
