anodizing removal ?

is it possible to remove the anodizing that's faded on a frame and have it nice and shiny ?

I haven't purchased anything yet but have seen faded Zaskar frames and would like to do this to a Zaskar if possible ??

Seriously. Spray it on until it turns black, then scrub it off with a Scotch Brite or Brillo pad.

It's possible with sand paper but difficult to get every little bit off, especially in the welds etc. without damaging the surface and smoothing off parts that shouldn't be!
Ideally it would be acid dipped to remove the outer oxide layer and then either re-anodised or left bare for polishing. This would be the least labour intensive and least likely to damage the frame

On my old paintball guns that were anodized I also used to use oven cleaner to remove the colour. I would agree on the comment about the welds and tight spaces needing more work but everything is possible

Re:

Don't leave the oven cleaner on too long as it will turn black and you don't want to waste time and effort scrubbing away at metal trying to remove the black. For small aluminium parts you're talking a few minutes only. Any longer and it defeats the object of the process.
