An Italian Jaunt

Visited family over the summer, 10 days in Ravenna. Not far from pantanis old stomping ground. Thought I'd see oodles of shiny Colnagos, a host of Bianchis and DeRosa.

Did I see any, nope. One rusty Bianchi near the local park. Couple of Colnagos when I went up into the hills for a spot of rock climbing. Other than that nothing. More bling road bikes in hayfield on a wet Sunday. very disappointed.

One quirky observation. there is a bloke in Ravenna riding around on a 190/1991 marin with a full set of race clobber for every year! In the 10 days I was ther he wore 10 different marin race kits. Very impressive

I know what you mean - I was in Tuscany this time last year and assumed there would be bike shops galore and pros everywhere.
Of course we saw nothing.

On the last day we saw a bianchi/liquigas team car but my wife wouldn't let me stop to peer in the window!
