Hi all,

Just about to start a build of an awesome Almega DX frame but need a few authentic components.

I'm looking for a set of alpinestars straight rigid forks, happy to consider all condition, if there was a set of mint condition Fluro yellow forks that would be awesome.

Also after any Alpinstars components from yhe early 90's.

Does anybody have a Fluro 'stars jersey?

Cheers,

R

Hi,

I have some forks the same as these:

If they're of interest, I will measure the steerer length and take some pictures for you.

Cheers,
Pat

Re:

Are they 'stars forks or just similar?

If they are genuine then I'm definitely interested and would like to see some pics.
Cheers!

They're genuine. I'm at work today but I'll get you some details and pics this evening.

Re:

What steerer length are you after?

I have some scuffy steel ones that will need a re-coat. similar to the steerer length in the above pic.

A genuine stem too, with central cable feed through the stem. made of steel. could use a re-paint.

Just two things brother...

Beware alu stems, they cracked a lot, and were largely recalled bitd.
What ever forks you pick up, get a respray anyway, unless absolutely mint to get that flouro impact.

And, where are you based, i hate posting these days! :)

Agree about the stems. I stripped and resprayed one, no visible crack at all.
A while later when it was back on the bile I moved the bike to hoover underneath and it cracked in several places. The longest being around 1/2" long.

Re:

Ummm, good point guys.

I'm based in South Wales.

What would be an era correct alternative stem, Controltech or Syncroa cattle prod perhaps?

Re:

Controltech, yes, i personally like that little USA flag you get on them! syncros.....don't want to do them down but i have seen plenty of cracked seatposts and the stems just look wrong and stacked too high around the fork steerer.

So, that's my opinion as far as aluminium goes, but, anything steel will be fine. I will get you a pic of the steel a-stars one i have, probably tomorrow now.
