My mighty steed for the London Tri tomorrow:

It's my 1992 Raleigh Strada in Reynolds 531 with an old-timey paintjob. Mix of original Shimano Exage and 105 SLR groupset. 6-speed indexed 14-19 Uniglide and 52/42 Biopace rings, rims are early aero clinchers with Vittoria Zaffiro slicks, brakes are 105 SLR aero levers and calipers, saddle is a Sportex A50 and Laprade seatpost. Weighs in at about 9.5kg with these tyres.

All last minute checks done, shifts nice and smooth now the chainrings are actually done up (!), stem slammed and it's ready to go.

Oh, and matching shoes, of course ;)

1980 Detto Pietro with Look Keo cleats. Though I suppose since this is an event (and not commuting) I could have used slotted cleats and quills - Damn, why didn't I think about that before!!!

Ha, no replies! Managed 69 minutes 44 on the 25 mile bike leg despite having to stop and get off at one point with cramp. Quite pleased with that. 2 hrs 42 overall time.

Well done. Hope you wore white ankle socks and a top with sleeves (whether short or long).
White-ish ankle socks were the best I could do with running socks. Can't really run in an old cycling top because they rub too much (and definitely can't swim in it) so I was in a tri suit up top. I looked for ages for retro running gear as next best, like a 1970's running vest, but it's even harder to find than cycling stuff!

Re:

For a retro triathlon - surely only the sartorial mix of David Wilkie, Barry Hoban and David Bedford would suffice?

Re:
