Alex Competition

Does anybody know what this is? Frame says Alex and Competition. Could one begin to suspect titanium, considering the lack of colour?

It was Tange Infinity. The bike seems like an ok deal for £45.

I had an Alex Competition like that when I was a teenager. My parents took me to a department store called Karstadt Sport in Essen, Germany. I can't remember the price. It must have been around 1996 or 1997. The bike started my love for mountain bikes. I was very happy with the bike and was always delighted with the paintwork and components. Deore LX at the back, the rest was STX at the front, if I remember correctly. The gears shifted superbly. The frame was relatively stiff and unyielding, which meant that riding comfort suffered. Unfortunately, it was later stolen. Many frame details remind me of Diamond Back Bikes. Does anyone know if the company supplied frames to Alex? Because Alex is better known for sportswear.
