Hello all, it's been a while since I last posted on here; alas no retro projects to speak of.
Until now, that is!
I have recently come across an old 531 framed Tandem in large lumps, i.e. Frame, forks, cranks etc.
The frame is marked "A.J. Wells" and was wondering if anybody had any info on who they were, where they were from etc.
The frame, I would probably say was early 70's with a chrome fork. It has an eccentric front BB shell and what appears to be an oversized steerer, though not measured it all up yet.
It's 700c, as far as I can tell from the back wheel which has a 5 speed freewheel Sugino hub with drum brake. Stronglight 49D tandem cranks, Mafac 2000 centrepulls and ITM upright bars.
Not in fantastic condition, but part of me is wondering whether to do it up and keep, despite the lack of room or enthusiasm from Mrs. Willies.
