Hello all, I have an Orange X1, almost built, and an S-Works FSR, not quite almost built.

Both have an air filled shock at the back, and as I have never ridden full sus before I have no idea what to do with them.

The S-Works has a Fox Alp4, and the Orange has a ..... (whatever came with it). Both appear to have a car type valve, and both have been emptied of air.

What kind of pump do I use and how do I know how much to put in?

You need a shock pump (From £10 I have one spare!! Posted  )
First you need to work out how much sag you want . You need to know the total travel of your bike. If you've got 100mm of travel and you want 25% sag, that's 25mm of compression under your weight. Best to get a responsible adult to help with this bit. Measure from seat to ground with you off the bike, then get on it and measure it again. The second measurement should be eg 25mm (or whatever figure you came up with) less than the first. If it's sagging too much, add some more air. If it's not sagging enough, release some air. Repeat until you hit the mark. Then go and ride it and adjust the setting to taylor the ride style to your own prference. :D

My X1 came with a Stratashock and I was told 1 pound per square inch of pressure per pound of your weight and that seemed fine for me.
