After having a car weighed in

if the car is insured then yes. otherwise you'd be insuring something that doesnt exist.

or are you planning on crushing it then making a claim? in which case, dont tell them yet

It's all legal and above board, DVLA have been informed by the scrappy and we have written confirmations of the cars demise..

It's just that the premium for the remainder of the year could be of less value than the NCB letting it run will give us..

Nowt more dodgy than that. . .

I don't see the problem.. no harm will be done, no mysterious claims etc. but apparently, legally, the insurance company should be told and I was wondering whether it's that big a deal..

I've done it myself too. Give them a call and ask if you were to scrap the car could they place the policy on hold till the end of the term.

Was only joking about the false claim by the way.

I guessed that ;)

It's on a multi-car policy and the saving from converting back to single car is (I think) worth less than the first years ncb the Wife will get if it runs its course..
