A very long term project - Carlton Pro-Am from 1980

I have had this machine in my workshop for the last 6 years. Its one of those projects that started off with great intentions and enthusiasm, but sort of petered out.
Not sure what to do with this at the moment, I can't seem to get excited about it. All it needs is new chain, tyres and tubes, plus a few cables and brake blocks... what do you think?

Yes some things get stuck in the shed....why not sell it and move on. It's a nice bike but not as nice as many of your others?

I have a workmate who is looking for a large steel frame, I'll see if he is interested, if not I may well put it up for sale.

Well this machine is still in my possession and I recently decided to upgrade the wheels and finally get this gate on the road. Its a nice, quick and light bike and I have to say Ive got back some degree of enthusiasm for it. Finally took this out for a ride last weekend and it feels great. I've slightly downgraded the rear sprocket in terms of gearing (22 to a 2 to help with some the hillier parts of Plymouth. Treated the bike to some new decals too. After about 6 years of languishing around the bike can now earn its keep. Ridden to work earlier this week without any fuss. I'll get some pictures up very soon.

Out for a test ride last week:

Its a 25" frame but I can ride it quite easily, feel light and responsive, good on those hills now too. 531 main tubes mean the frame is pretty light. The black alloy wheels give it a more modern look in my eyes. This is my 'newest' Carlton at only 36 years old.

That's a very nice looking bike the frame is huge! May I ask how tall you are as at 5' 8" I often pass up on bikes that I assume are too large for me.
