Same here - besides, it's not as if riding a "retro" bike is in any way a handicap (in my opinion anyway). Certainly not for XC at least...
The fact that I'm decidedly "retro" has more influence on the result than what I might choose to ride :cry:

My thoughts too. Plus I already do race with the modern rubbish. And finish in front of quite a few of them. steady improvement each race. Its not what you ride its fittness/skill that have it.
