hello. i'm new here although i have been lurking and enjoying the forum for quite a while. i got back into mountain biking a couple of years ago and am hooked. i thought i would have a go at putting together a bike from frame upwards (can't be hard i thought)i'm a GT fan and ride a up graded aggressor. i have bought a i-drive comp for my build up. using u-tube and the net as guides to putting it together. i have fitted the headtube and moved on to the bottom bracket/crank.i have a shimano hollow tech 11 . is this wrong for my frame, i have fitted the shims as stated on a couple of how too's 2 fitted to the drive side 1 fitted to the other side. when i put my crank into the bracket it does not come out the other side far enough to put the other arm on. also it seem miles away from the frame and the position of the front mech.

loose two spacer's and keep one on the drive side if this dos'nt work try with none, the spacer's are to determine which bb shell size you have

many thanks for the quick reply. can i take it that the spilned part that goes into the arm has to go all the way to the end .

nearly ,try aming for a couple of millimetres before the end to take the slack on the bearings p.s dont over tighten the big end screw cap it'll do you're bearings in quicker
