Does anybody here have the ability to service a set of Xverts? I'm going to service my brothers little used Mantra Comp for his Birthday in April, but the elastomers in the fork are like toasted marshmallow and I really don't know anything about suspension fork internals from any generation! Any help would be appreciated.

Should I take that as 'no knowledge here', or ask the mods to move this to the post 98 chat?

What was the original height of the elastomer stack? Recon you could get a sping stack to replace. Measure them as I have a pair of springs here ;)

Well the elastomer that's not stuck at the bottom of the leg (for now) is 20mm. Knowing little about suspension forks, I'm not sure if they are the only problem though.

I think these are the tech drawings for this fork, it's certainly what I'm basing the age of them on (aside from the bike).

Whaddya reckon chaps?

I think you need to take off the top caps, as the elastomer in the picture is a bump stop. The dials on the top should undo, and reveal what lies within. I'm not familiar with the forks of this era, but would have thought that these aren't elastomer forks.
