I made one of these myself.. took a few hours but wasn't too tricky..

bought a 5mm thick aluminium offcut on ebay..

use the old one as a template and cut out the new one with lots of drill holes (rather than use loads of dremel cut off wheels) and hand filed it to shape..

The same as the one spacehopper made Rob, they never changed design on those frames....
