(93?) Stumpy skip find

Pulled this baby out of a skip last week, lush colour, isn't it? But what's the year? I thought about 92/93, browsing pictures & catalogues on here I haven't found another that colour. Some twonk 'updated' it with drivetrain from the fugly bin, & the Exage/Mavic wheels are probably from an older bike (front one's taco'd anyway). It's got a 150(!) extension Kalloy stem & matching long post, both '93 date, these would make it about the right size for me to ride!
Frame & Forks probably the only original parts:

Frame's a bit scuffed up, worst ding being on the back of the seat post:

So probably not worth the full respray but it'd be a fun ride. I'll probably just go for age appropriate parts, but would be interested to know original spec.
How about the Future Shock forks, I believe they had a lot in common with Mag 21s. Seals are gone, but stanchions look o.k. has anyone got service instructions, & where can I get seals? Alternativley, would it be a dumb idea putting a rigid fork (possibly from my '94 Rockhopper) on there?

Great find 8) , how come i never find stuff like this :x

If you were respraying it the dent on the seattube could be filled with either chemical metal or car body filler so a respray is still viable.

Dont know much about the forks, if they are just like Mag's though TFtuned should be able to service them/supply spares.

Fitting a rigid fork for now would'nt be dumb, if it's a colour that clashes with the cherry red paint the fork black or silver (unless you are keeping the Rockhopper original)

Top marks for saving it though, perfectly good old rig with tons of life left, would have been a shame to have gone to waste.

Excellent find

Hi mate
Excellent find!
From memory I think its a 93 model but will check the books once I get in. The fork is just a Specialized FS fork based on the mag21. All parts are interchangable.

if it was me, i'd stick some rigid forks on there and 1x9 the drivetrain!

a good find and should be a good project.

It's a 1993 stumpjumper if I remember correctly, a nice DX build with thumbies would be just the job I reckon! Great find :)

No! This is Cab
I have a feeling that this will be fixed gear only

Jamie

with those dropouts? more likely what jax13 said, or a tensioner SS! if there's gears, thumbies.
