Long time buyer, seller and avid forum scroller, finally posting a build thread.
So here goes,
It started as a £60 Gumtree purchase 3 or so years ago....
Very nearly original, there was plenty of grime and rust spots unfortunately the original front wolber was shot to bits and the rear was a cheap wheel build to keep this thing rolling.
I decided this year to respray, re-decal (courtesy of the one and only Gil at retrodecals) , clean and rebuild, with a few modern extras; saddle, tyres, rims, grips, pedals. I did have some deore xt hubs so decided to build a fresh set of wheels on modern rims.
Unfortunately for all the retro enthusiasts out there, I couldn't handle the Dutch barge length of the stem so chose to replace the cockpit with my favourite bars, which it turn meant an update to the stopping system so she now runs dia compe v737s.
