80's Pinarello

Hi,

I have the chance to buy a 1980's Pinarello, Columbus tubing, Shimano 105 group, good overall condition - for sale at £120. Is this a good price?

Cheers

If it's a genuine Pinarello and it's in decent condition I'd say £120 an absolute bargain. Can you seller confirm it's a genuine frame?

Hi I will try and get some photos loaded - the guy who is selling it isn't even advertising it as a Pinarella - just a racing bike - so I don't think he knows what it is!

It has chrome forks and rear stays and looks good!

Well if it has Pinarello decals but, he's not selling it as a Pinarello then it's possible he knows it's not one and is avoiding any issues over giving false info

"Don't claim it is but, don't say it isn't"

Never go by just decals...the frame itself will tell the truth
Seat stay caps and headtube lugs are a good place to check

I hope it is because classic Pinarello's are dreamy

Excellent deal if it's not been nicked and it isn't gas pipe wearing Pinarello clothes... as above, make sure it's the real deal!

Re:

Hi,

New photos arriving this evening - its a lady selling it (maybe she's selling her ex's gear!!), the frame has no decals, apart from the standard 80's Pinarello head badge - which is the only reason I took a second look at the bike!

Fingers crossed she will be mine - the bike not the lady!

Re:

Montello is probably right about the decals - they look a shadow of the originals.

Photos are not fantastic but fork crown is embossed and the lug work, chroming, pump holder and top tube internal guides all look as they should.

The bike is a good hour away so want to be sure its the real mccoy.
