700C x 20 tyres for Raleigh build

Hi all,

currently looking for period style 700c x 20 tyres (skinwall) for a Raleigh Road Ace (1986 vintage) resto.

if any one has any tips?

If anyone has any idea who the original manufacturer was or any photos of the tread pattern etc that would be great!

They were probably vredestein...

Tread patterns have changed a little since then, and the availability of skin wall tyres in cream/black is somewhat patchy.

Many thanks for the tip. I was hoping for a tread pattern closer to the originals but as you say, 20mm wide skin wall tyres don't seem to be in fashion these days!

Michelin Dynamic are the only 20s that I know of in a tan wall. I commute on them in that size. Not a bad tyre actually!

Maybe you are able to still find a new set of those:

Came with a Raleigh Scorpio from 1991.

Schwalbe offer cream skin wall tyres:

However, they are only 23c, and very difficult to source

Edit - These appear to be tubs, although I am pretty sure I've seen them as clinchers
