So,
I bought this 96 goat stamped Hot last year (HO9611085) ... not the original paint or decals but in very good nick ...
I've plans to respray, new decals, build up with period parts etc ... but, funds are tight and I've a few other builds on the go that need finishing first.
Rather than just leave it in the garage gathering dust and looking sad I thought why not turn it into my winter ride ... seems a shame not to let this one out on the trails.
Bit of a mishmash of retro and modern ... and I decided to pinch the 650b wheels from my modern steed ... really just to see how it would ride.
I took it out last weekend ... And apart from wheel clearance being a little tight on the stays it rode incredibly well ... very fast and very responsive ... I might be on my own here but I think it looks pretty cool as well, the proportions seem to work? ... the dog at least seemed impressed ;-)
I will at some point restore it to its retro glory, it is a Hot after all ... but, for now I'm just going to enjoy it in this franken guise and hit the trails hard ;-)
