Looking for a decent quality steel Touring frame set or whole bike for a friend, 56ish top tube, preferably a longer seat tube, rim brakes, braze-ons for mudguards and racks and nothing too early so it can be run with a modern groupset. I guess a Super Galaxy is perfect, but let me know if you have anything appropriate (with pictures and prices hopefully).

TIA

This too big?

Too neo-retro?

What are the measurements for the top one Mark, and what is it?

Oh, and how much?!

Re: 56-58cm steel touring bike or frameset

The black one is a 1974 Norman Fay of South Shields.

531 throughout, battered but not rusty. Suntour dropouts, 135mm rear, lots of chrome

Seat to BB is 59cm, top tube is 56cm, for long legs, short arms.

Non drive side cup is reluctant to move so that limits it to square taper.

Seat post is 27.2

I'd want at least £50 posted for the frame and forks.

£180 'as is' with some very nice Shimano 600 cantilevers, Campagnolo headset and Record seatpost with the big rivet Brooks. Wheels are Rigida on Formula hubs running 8spd bar-end shifters on Nitto 44cm bars/ Dia-comp levers.

I used to ride it everywhere but now its at the back waiting for 'something'.

Not too fussed if it doesnt sell.
