55cm Cigno - lovely & now with pics SPLITTING!!

Senior Retro Guru
55cm top and seat tubes

Handbuilt by Dirk Van Hout at Cigno (http://www.cigno.be/index.html), a small builder in Belgium - believed early 90's frame set.

Very nicely built with lovely Cinelli lugs and Dedaccai tubing that mimics Columbus Gilco in that the tubes are crimped into a star profile, like Colnago Master frames of the same era. Really special multi colour paint, very Colnago-esque. The detailing on the lugs, crown and seat cluster is all gorgeous.

The frame is in very nice condition with only a few nicks in the paint. The silver fade areas are bubbling in some places but it's not too bad. I wouldn't consider having it resprayed, partly because it would cost a fortune to have a similar paintjob and partly because getting hold of the decals would be a nightmare!

It's built with a nice spec made up of mainly 9 speed 105 components, plus Campagnolo Daytona cranks with new Record outer ring. It has just been fitted with brand new NOS 3TTT Status stem and Forma SL bars, and a brand new Planet X seatpost. It has Open Pro CD rims built on 105 hubs. Look pp247 pedals.

Looks and rides fantastic.

£450 now £425

Re: 55cm Cigno - lovely & now with pics REDUCED

I'm now splitting this:

Shimano 105 hubs on Mavic Open Pro CD rims, inc <Michelin Dynamic on the front and a Conti GP on the rear, both in good nick £50 collected

Full 105 9 speed group set inc cassette, shifters, brakes, front & rear mech plus Campag Daytona chain set & BB with Record outer ring. All up for £120 collected

I'd do the groupset and wheels together for £150 collected

Collection preferred in Cheshire

I'm surprised this hasn't been snapped up as it's so lovely!

Might mean I've got the pricing wrong, so please feel free to make offers!!

Hi, can you tell me what the tubing is please.

Also what is the head tube length

and is the '55cm' measurement of the seat tube to the top or centre.

you don't say what you'd take for the frame/forks/headset

might also be interested in the stem and bars and the rolls and maybe even the wheels too
