Hi all,

Well, it’s been a long time since I’ve ridden my old MTB & a very long time since I’ve posted anything here..

I need some new tyres as the current pair of Panaracer fire xc pro 1.8’s have seen better days. Is it me or are 26” getting harder to find (I’m looking to buy new)?

So, my question is what tyre you guys using these days.

Appreciate any help.. :)

Thanks

Hutchinson cobra in 2.1 are close to my usual chameleons of 1.95 flavour, grest fir general xc use. Mine were from Decathlon via the post.

Michelin Country Mud 2.0" is a great value tyre, Chain Reaction are out of stock at present, but check the reviews on their site. People like them, I do too- durable, fast-rolling and weigh around 600g.
Yes, Planet X great for Geax/Vittoria 26", again stocks are low- I've bought several Gato 1.9" folding (about 470g) for as little as a fiver each in the past- excellent tyres, but not as good in the rough stuff as the Michelins.

Thanks guys,

It seems some of the availability’s are a bit limited but, i’ve Now got some ideas..

Schwalbe Rocket Ron any good?

I love Rocket Rons - really fast and grippy. I've had some which have been fragile, so beware if you are in a flinty area.

Re:

Schwalbe Blackjacks on my hardtail, I think 2.1 on rear and 2.25 front. I like them, not too draggy on road links and pretty good all-round off road (OK maybe not thick gloopy mud but who wants to ride through that on a regular basis!).

Last time I looked there were LOADS of options on ebay.
