Hey guys

Just purchased a Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 and stripped it down because I was just after the frameset to rebuild it. All removable parts are being sold off and it looks ace now.

Can anyone recommend a great company in the UK that they've used or know others that have used for painting of carbon frames?

And does anyone know of a UK company that does structural checks of carbon bikes too?

Thanks!

(apologies if this is in the wrong part of the forum. If it needs moving to somewhere else let me know)

Re:

Funnily enough, I have a Focus Izalco Pro from 2012 that I got second hand the other year. Fantastic bike and very quick. Anyway, I noticed big chip on one of the stays (presumably caused by chain suck) and was worried. Googled carbon frame repairs and chose company in Derbyshire.

Contacted them, explained problem, e-mailed photos and visited with the frame. Very friendly, spent some time examining and 'testing' with a scalpel. He assured me was only the paint that had gone, explained that carbon frames often have thick paint and he also does paint jobs. Haven't got round to taking frame back yet but have had no problems with the bike, including touring in Dolomites with luggage. This reminds me I need to get the paint job done!

Good luck.

the other place for painting and repairing is No Quarter cycles which can be found on here.
James is the man and they do some really impressive work.
They are listed on here and also have a facebook page that would be worth having a look at to see some of their recent work, which from memory had a couple of carbon machines listed.
No connection to me, I might add.
Hope this might help

Jamie
