Hardly retro, but they match a frame colourwise that I'm building up :)

Are these any good? (I'm not up on the relative merits of sus forks). Thet get mixed results on MTBR.

Cheers.

I think they're great, but I kind of get the impression that the bigger/heavier you are the less you like them. And obviously if you like freeride, they're a no no.

One advantage if you're a geometry freak like me is that they're just about the only fork that really works that you can switch from 80mm travel to 63mm if you want to make the fork a retro length and keep the steering of a retro frame as sharp as it was designed for.

[having said that I think you could also get the RC38 Airforce in 63mm BITD]

Good advice. Just fitted a set of modded 01 sids to my Goat. As Anthony mentions they are adjustable for 63mm and 80mm travel although they are quite 'tall' in both configurations. When in good shape the forks work well, normal air spring adjustment and quite a useful range of damping adjustment too.

All Judys and especially SIDs aren't so rigid. The forks also take some looking after. If you don't service them they will f*ck up.
