2001 Kona Stinky Six

My first project of the year has a arrived. Old school freeride Stinky in purple. I believe these actually came out in mid 2001, seen them referenced as 2001.5. If you look close in NWD2 all the Kona guys are rocking this frame. Pretty excited to finally have my first Stinky. Not sure why I didn't get one sooner.

My focus has been Rockys for so long I never got around to my passion for Konas. Going be a slower build. So far have a black Thomson post. Green salsa collar. Hussefelt cranks. Will be 9 speed Sean x9. Need a marz fork and wheel set.

The chainstays looks a lot nicer built than some of the other full suss Kona's I've owned. Very nice.

Yeah the beefy stays are what sealed the deal for me. Should be a fun bike. Though I think it will be a slower build to get going. Trying to relax and enjoy the rides I do have. Also easier on the wallet.

i love these old kona!!!
simple and strong! and the front triangle is very similar to the old beautiful RM slayer...
so good!!!
