2000 Specialized FSR Comp

Retro Newbie
Bought it brand new back in the day, used it for about 12 months, it was always cleaned after every ride, then left it for 14 years! Just recently I had the urge to cycle again. I was going to chuck it and get a new bike, but then, this is like a new bike, just a bit retro! Its immaculate, I've changed the rear suspension, put new tyres on it and a new chain, changed the brakes, new seat and that's about it. I put the carbon bars on and upgraded to XTR on the rear and a few other bits when I bought it. And I still have all the standard parts, except the gears. Before my Specialized I had an early 90's Orange 02 and a 1998 Kona Muni Mula, wish I kept that! Here is the FSR as it stands today......

Might even get a new racer yet and let it gather dust for another 14 years

Wow that is like new! I had the 2001 model of this bike. It was superb! Always on the lookout for a large one as i really shouldnt have sold it.

Very clean.

You swap the forks out, why is there fox ligo on downtube (only seen fox forks on spesh bikes back then)

Re:

The forks are original, the fox sticker is the brand of clothing 'fox' I put a few stickers on it when I got it. Although it did have a fox float rear shock, which I changed for a more modern equivalent

Re:

 Looks like you just brought it home from the shop.
Sticking with the 636s? - I still ride SPDs but the last few times I have been to trail centres I was the only one. I didn't half feel old
