hi all,
Just picked up this bike locally - my first mtb.
Is it,any good? Seems to be original apart from forks , stem and bars.
I'll be swapping out a few bits.
Already swapped the stem for 6 degree dead I had lying around and have been for a spin. Fantastic!

Will be putting on a king headset too when in find one...

Frame size is a 17.5 I think!

Cheers

Re:

That's all you need right there, really, the frames are really light and reliable in terms of not breaking.

for me, flat bars, the stem you're on about and maybe look at those tyre side-walls, they seem 'latticed' and dry. if they feel ok though, get some use out of them.

Not sure on frame size as marin started measuring frames differently. the usual conforming industry thing. That may be what they regarded as 18" back then.

Another marin out and about can only be a good thing!

Re:

Thanks :D
I've checked it over and no cracks or dings. Everything has been greased and well maintained. Needs new brake blocks, tyres, rear wheel tensioning again but it's rideable as is.
Definitely going for flat bars as the current look a bit wrong.
Think you're right about the size too!
