I've owned this bike since new and felt it was time for an overhaul. It originally came with a mix of LX and XT drivetrain with the in-house Icon crankset, silver bars/stem/seat post, and red wheels. I wanted to black it out as much as possible, so I sourced the NOS Kore Elite bars, stem, and seat post, Bontrager/XTR wheelset (black rims), Avid Ultimate brakes and levers, and Race Face Turbines. The only item remaining from the original bike is the front derailleur. I think the new look is much improved over the old stock bike, and much lighter, too.

nice bike - not many TREK bikes displayed here.

like the build, Avids are great, nice wheelset & cranks and not so common fork.

XT Shadow is working great, but in my opinion get yourself a nice XTR 95x rear der. which will suit the build better :)

I know, I know, I thought about searching for a proper rear derailleur but just haven't got around to it yet. It's definitely next on the list.

Thanks for the compliments!
